Where the work is seen, it must also be understood. ArtesAméricas not only provides a vehicle for presenting Latin American and Latino artists, but also includes and is defined by the educational components that complement each of our programs.- Comprehensive Materials on artists and their countries help "contextualize" the audience’s and community’s experience of the art forms presented. Through crosscultural interaction, graduate students work with ArtesAméricas to participate in the development of these materials prepared for educational use, and all are in accordance with National Teaching Standards. - International Exchanges allow ArtesAméricas to act as a resource, bringing together knowledge and experience in collaboration between UT Austin, presenters from around the country, artist management resources, and our colleagues and friends in Latin America. These events and programs serve as a catalyst to broaden the understanding, appreciation and support of the arts. These programs are funded, in part, through the generosity of the Roy F. & Joann Cole Mitte Foundation.
